Insight Counseling was established by Natalie Houston, Licensed Professional Counselor and Parent Educator. For the past 15 years, Natalie's work as a researcher, educator and practitioner has focused on understanding and promoting the factors that increase individual wellbeing and strengthen healthy connections between people.
Natalie is a passionate and creative therapist with a genuine interest in helping each client achieve a more fulfilling life, which has won her honors from Earlham College with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, as well as from Oregon State University where she received her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and the Distinguished Student Award for outstanding clinical practice and scholarship.
Natalie is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists. She is also a nationally certified parenting instructor and teaches Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.) courses in Bend, Oregon. She is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA). Natalie is also a mother and stepmother, so she is keenly aware of the unique challenges facing contemporary families.

We maintain a foundation in a range of approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Interpersonal Neurobiology so that we can tailor solutions for each client.
We are dedicated to the enhancement of couple and family relationships through an emphasis on emotions and their interpersonal impact.
We also specialize in helping families successfully navigate the emotional challenges of divorce and post-divorce processes, such as developing positive co-parenting relationships, supporting children's adjustment to divorce, and the healthy development of step/blended families.
